Unfamiliar Apparatus: Hangeul Lettering Workshop

Join us for an exciting Korean hand lettering workshop led by talented designer Seyun Om, inspired by her journey through the world of typography and design. While studying graphic design, Seyun noticed a significant gap in resources for non-Latin typography, especially when it came to Korean letterforms. Driven by her passion for design and cultural heritage, she created this hands-on workshop to share her knowledge with others.

Building on the success of her spring 2023 workshop, this event offers a rare opportunity to explore the art of Korean hand lettering. Drawing inspiration from Mark Bohle’s renowned “Tools to Type” workshop, Seyun’s approach is both straightforward and engaging. Participants will get to experiment with a variety of writing tools, learning the techniques to form beautiful, unique Korean characters.

Perfect for designers, calligraphy enthusiasts, or anyone curious about Korean typography, this workshop requires no prior experience. Seyun’s personalized guidance ensures that each attendee can explore the creative potential of Korean letterforms in a fun, relaxed setting. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of Korean typography and your very own hand-crafted letterforms!

Don’t miss out on this immersive experience. Come learn, create, and celebrate the beauty of Korean letters with Seyun!
