AIGA Boston Visits MAAM

The AIGA Boston Board of Directors is pleased to invite AIGA Boston members to join as we visit MAAM (The MassArt Art Museum) for our winter mixer. MAAM is Boston’s newest museum, a space to experience works by visionary artists at the forefront of contemporary art. Join MAAM and AIGA Boston for a celebratory evening of printmaking, collective conversation, and pop-up talks.

According to Boston Art Review, MAAM launched in February of 2021, as the “result of a $12 million renovation and rebrand that required nearly two years of construction and a decade of planning … it’s a kunsthalle, or non-collecting museum, one that promises to be a far more accessible and inviting destination for art.” And if you were wondering (and we know you were) the MAAM logo and branding was developed by AIGA Boston member Tammy Dayton, who AIGA Boston just happened to interview earlier this year.

Beyond the fabulous branding was there something we were eager to see? Yes, MAAM! We are so gracious for the opportunity to be introduced to several awesome exhibitions. The first is Designing Motherhood: Things That Make and Break Our Births. In celebration of this event, AIGA Boston will hold a members-only raffle to award a copy of the namesake book, exquisitely designed by Lana Cavar and Natasha Chandani of clanada.

But there’s more. A site-specific installation by Joana Vasconcelos is also on view and it also is something to see.

We hope you’ll join us!
