About the speaker:
"I am Rami Huu Nguyen. I am currently an AI researcher and a core member of the Student Advisory Council at UMass Boston.
My current research is to highlight the evidence that students can use GenAI to generate essays that would receive high scores on critical thinking rubric. Building on the evidence, I recommend educators must focus on process rather than final essays.
At UMass Boston, I host 8+ workshops and speaking series to help students to navigate the AI landscape, and use AI intentionally. I am also a speaker in places: Fisher College, Bob Marketing Show, UMass Boston to share my perspective on AI across diverse topics: personal branding, customer behavior, marketing, and AI concepts.
Before AI emerged, I have consistently built systems and platforms that help business and support better decisions through multiple jobs: business owner, website marketing intern, social media intern, strategy intern, data analytics intern, and graduate assistant.
I am from Vietnam. Keep learning is my core value. This motivation led me to travel to the Philippines, Singapore, and Boston. I have also gained knowledge in diverse majors: commerce, supply chain, logistics, market research, business analytics, and now the hot topic is AI.
Since November 2021, I have volunteered as a marketer and photographer at the Insights Association, North Atlantic, a non-profit market research organization where I help build connections between market research professionals and students in the Boston area.
That moment has triggered my curiousity to build several AI-powered projects, including a resume builder, cover letter generator, newsletter creator, LinkedIn post generator, trend analyzer, graphical perception tool, peer-grading system, personal website generator, and an education research tool."
