This Year, We're Virtual!
Last year’s virtual reviews were so successful we decided to continue the format this year! We will match reviewers with a few reviewees to find time within the week to meet virtually on your own. When you're matched you'll communicate with that person to find time and schedule a call or video chat to connect. These virtual portfolio reviews will begin on Monday, June 20th, and end on Friday, June 24th.

REVIEWEES
This is your opportunity to talk about your work with two or three professionals. You can show your portfolio, or just a few projects.  You’re welcome to bring your resumé and a cover letter, and you can expect professional guidance. This event is a more casual, café style conversation, but you still will want to be at your best! Plan ahead and set up a few minutes early, be prepared, and be mindful of how you present yourself and your work. We recommend you wear professional attire, appropriate for an interview.

REVIEWERS
We depend on you each year. This event only works because of your continued effort in bringing your knowledge to the next generation of creatives. If you have the capacity to help these new creatives, please sign up to be a reviewer today.

HOW IT WORKS
We will partner reviewees who want to receive professional guidance with one or more reviewers, professionals who provide feedback and actionable advice. Communication will be conducted on a virtual basis through the platform that works best for you, like a video call or phone call.

EXPECTATIONS
All we ask is you spend 30 minutes with each reviewee/reviewer. Complete your reviews by Friday, June 24th, end of day. After you are matched with your partner(s), you are both responsible for setting up time to review. You are welcome to continue conversations after the review is completed. Our goal is to empower creatives to be successful and connected!

REVIEWEES: How to Prepare for Your Virtual Portfolio Review

  • Present 8 to 12 of your best portfolio pieces.
  • Arrive at least 5 minutes before your virtual review time if meeting via video conference. Try Zoom or Google Hangouts!
  • Wear professional attire, and have a background that represents you professionally (Try making your own digital background, especially if your camera shows your roommate’s unmade bed!).
  • Have your resume, portfolio site, or presentation to share with reviewers
  • Ensure your laptop/device is charged, or close to a charger.

FEES
This event is free for all participants, due to hardship with COVID-19. We highly encourage underrepresented / POC designers to sign up.
