There has been a surge of interest in socially motivated design over the past several years. Designers across several disciplines–graphic design, product design, experience design, architecture, and urban planning–have taken on projects focused largely on underserved communities locally and internationally. Designers already apt at problem-solving have found themselves designing systems and strategies, in addition to physical and digital experiences.
The effects of design decisions are all around us and have an impact one way or another. How do we keep the consequences of design top of mind and design for social impact all the time?
Join AIGA Boston and Design Observer for a conversation about socially responsible design. We are bringing together a group of design leaders who are active in the field of design for social impact to share their experiences and perspectives in a discussion of how we design with equity and social responsibilities in mind.
This event is a part of the AIGA Design for Good initiative which addresses problem-solving and design thinking towards social change.
