365 | Design Effectiveness 2011 competition selections exemplify the most effective work in communication design completed in 2010, as chosen by a distinguished jury. These 134 selections, narrowed down from the more than 1,200 entries received, represent the best work across all disciplines of communication design and strategy. As such, they become part of the AIGA Design Archives, an interactive, visual database of exemplary design; are showcased here at the AIGA National Design Center, in New York; and are presented in a traveling exhibition for display across the country. The physical artifacts are maintained in the AIGA National Design Archives at the Denver Art Museum. Through its national competitions, AIGA creates an authoritative chronicle of outstanding design solutions, each demonstrating:
The overriding criterion for inclusion in this year’s show was excellence defined as the successful pairing of aesthetics with effectiveness.
