presented by AIGA Boston and the Peabody Essex Museum

Explore the language and process of poster design with Nancy Skolos, head of the Graphic Design Department at Rhode Island School of Design, and Tom Wedell, award-winning photographer (and authors of Type, Image, Message: A Graphic Design Layout Workshop). PEM’s Daniel Finamore, The Russell W. Knight Curator of Maritime Art and History, opens with a discussion of historic examples from the museum’s celebrated ocean liner poster collection.

Directions
The Phillips Library Auditorium is located in Plummer Hall next door to the Salem Visitors Center and Armory Park on Essex Street.

By train from North Station: Take the Rockport or Newburyport line to Salem. At Salem Station, walk towards the stairs at the end of the platform (back of the train). At the top of the stairs cross Bridge St and walk 3 blocks along Washington St, then left onto the Essex St pedestrian walkway. The entrance to Plummer Hall is on the left just past the entrance to the Peabody Essex Museum.

Parking is available at the municipal lot between Federal and Church Streets near PEM or in the PEM parking garage on New Liberty St.
