Refunds available for "Design Life Next" 12/13/07 ICA/AIGA series talk
Due to conflicts in the speakers' schedules, the ICA is unable to reschedule the ICA/AIGA Design Series talk "Design Life Next" with Ellen Lupton, Chip Kidd, Ben Fry and Toshiko Mori, originally scheduled for December 13, 2007. We apologize for any inconvenience. All ticket holders will receive a refund-please call the box office at 617-478-3103 during regular museum hours to receive your refund. Tickets are available for the next ICA/AIGA Design Series program, featuring writer and comic book artist Mike Mignola, creator of the "Hellboy" character, on Thursday, April 3, at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $12 general admission; $8 members, students, and seniors.

365 Show at Mt. Ida College

An exhibition of outstanding communication design produced in North America in 2006, which opened to the public in December 2007 at the American Institute of Graphic Arts National Design Center in New York. Don't miss this first stop as it travels around the country. The exhibition will be on view from January 29, 2008 through March 2, 2008. On February 7th there will be a reception from 5-7 pm, and a Gallery Talk at 6:30. The Talk will include a presentation and panel discussion on sustainable design with panelists from Mohawk Paper Mills, Millennium Graphics, and Oxfam America.

AIGA Boston's Book Group meets every other month in Boston to discuss a wide selection of design books. The group is run by volunteers and made up of 10-15 people. Books to be discussed are suggested by the members of the group, and then voted on and selected. Our group meets every other month on a Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in Boston to discuss our books. These meetings are very casual and friendly. For nearly a century, AIGA's competitions have been among the most prestigious in the design world. The AIGA design competitions are authoritative, so if your work is selected, it becomes history. Through each annual selection, AIGA creates a definitive chronicle of outstanding design solutions, each demonstrating the process of designing, the role of the designer and the value of design. Selected entries will be added to the AIGA Design Archives online and the physical artifacts will be housed for posterity in the permanent archives of the Denver Art Museum. Sustainable Design: At the Intersection of Art, Policy and Science
Saturday, March 29, 1–5pm
Symposium in conjunction with D2E at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston from March 28–30, 2008.
This Symposium will bring together important voices in arts and science who advocate sustainability in their work. They will explore sustainable design in the context of art, science and policy and showcase methods and materials for the design and creation of environmentally responsible products and places. Key speakers are artist Michael Singer, internationally known for his commitment to sustainable practices, and Ursula Tischner, founder of econcept in Cologne, Germany, which supports companies, consumers and other organizations on their path to a more sustainable, future-oriented way of producing, consuming and thinking. Organized by the UrbanArts Institute at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, in partnership with D2E and the Goethe-Institut Boston. The event is free and open to the public.
